Adele Turned Down Offer To Perform at 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Getting invited to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show is an achievement on its own. It means you’re officially certified in the world of music and beyond. The artists who perform on there are super mega stars. It would take a fool to turn down such an opportunity, right?

Turns out Adele has the balls to say no, because at her concert in Los Angeles on Saturday, she silenced rumors that she would be this year’s guest performer.

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”

In the past few weeks, The Sun had reported that the NFL has their hearts set on Adele being the 2017 performer, but it seems she has different plans. Looks like the superstar rather continue her world tour and perform in front of millions across the world, than step on stage in front of millions in the biggest sporting event in the country. Those tour checks must be enough to keep her satisfied.

Shots fired at the coordinators (see: “that show is not about music“) for always making it some over the top spectacle too.

UPDATE: It seems like the NFL and Pepsi have released a statement to damage control what Adele said at her concert. It’s up to you to decide who’s actually telling the truth.

“The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.”
