Alsina’s sophomore album is officially titled

It’s been a little over a year since August Alsina released his debut album, Testimony. A lot has happened in the New Orleans crooner’s life since then, including some health issues. With 2015 only three months from being over, Alsina has plans on releasing his sophomore studio effort before that happens. Last night, he took to Instagram where he announced the title of the album by hash-tagging #ThisThingCalled life, saying he played it for DJ Khaled and a few others, who gave him nothing but positive feedback after their listening session.

Khaled compared the sequencing and structuring of the album to that of the Dr. Dre and Nas’ classic solo LP’s “Chronic” and “Illmatic,” respectively.

The album is currently being promoted through the lead singles “Hip-Hop” and the recently released “Why I Do It” featuring Lil Wayne.

Expect This Thing Called Life to arrive this fall.
