“I’m excited to push the culture”

During summer 2015, Big Sean transitioned focus from his Dark Sky Paradise album, to work on immediate follow-up content. While taking most of this year to promote his TWENTY88 EP with Jhene Aiko, the Detroit rapper is closing out 2016 with a big promo run for his upcoming fourth studio album, I Decided. The project, which is set to release on February 3rd, has received input from both JAY Z and Kanye West, as Sean believes this is his biggest effort to date.

Regarding the mixed old-school soul and R&B featured project, The Don went to say “That’s not something that people expect from a Big Sean project. So, I’m happy we are delivering something unexpected. I’m excited to push the culture and push my artistry to the limit.

I was just at this Motown exhibit with Berry Gordy with my mom He was talking about Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder and the Temptations and how one of the things they did was inspire people. They inspired people to have a good time, to do better — to be a better version of themselves.”

Although he’s stepping out of the box during moments in the project, Sean still sticking to his true origins of heavy bass and rewindable verses throughout the forthcoming 2017 affair. He would close things saying, “You don’t want to overdo it. I’m not trying to sit here and preach to people. You can get a message across with a song like ‘Bounce Back.’ We’ve all bounced back from something before, so that fits my story perfect, but you never would have known that from hearing it by itself.”

While Sean has been quiet on who will be joining Chance in the guest features department, new photos with Pharrell and Bruno Mars suggest they could be making a last minute arrival.
