It looks like the light the light at the end of the tunnel is coming soon for Bobby Shmurda and his fellow GS9 homie Rowdy Rebel. Last week, the two decided to take a plea bargain to serve 7-years in jail for their murder conspiracy charge.

Complex locked down their first interview since that verdict and the two had interesting stuff to say.

For one, they have no bad blood towards Epic Records (or Sony) for not helping bail them out. According to them, Epic was behind them the whole time, but Sony didn’t want to cut the checks. The two also spoke about their trial and why they decided to take the plea.

Why did you take the plea deal?
Bobby Shmurda: I did it for Rowdy. They offered me five and offered Rowdy 12. They said the only way they’ll give him seven is if I took seven too. So, you know, I had to take one for the dawgs.

If you hadn’t taken the deal, how much time were you guys looking at?
Bobby Shmurda: The judge wasn’t really playing fair because he was letting a lot of stuff into court that wasn’t supposed to be. The only witnesses the DA had against us were lying cops. We had detectives lying, saying they seen us with guns in our hands, but when everything came back there was no DNA, no fingerprints, no nothing. My lawyer told me we don’t want to go to court in Manhattan with these white people because they’re going to be looking at me, a little black kid. Who are they going to believe, the word of this black kid talking about shooting shit up or the word of white officers? A jury is going to believe cops all day. We’re black kids, these are white people with badges.

The two continued saying that Manhattan and Queens judges love to convict people and send innocent people upstate, compared to Brooklyn judges, who throw cases out that have no merit. The two GS9 members argue the cops planted evidence to catch them up and they never found guns on them in the first place. But throughout the whole ordeal, they saw how shady the police were being so they decided to take the plea deals with a smile, because they’ve been through worse in life and things could have been worse for them.

They gave one of your fellow GS9 members, Rashid Derissant, 98 years.
Bobby Shmurda: He’ll be back on appeal. And they gave my other co-defendant [Alex Crandon] 53 to life, shit’s crazy. These my dawgs since Pre-K. They did that because they knew they were close to me.

As far as what Bobby and Rowdy are planning after they get out, Shmurda wants to go into acting and release a book. He wants to tell his story for what really happened in hopes people understand the struggle he went through. He also wants to do a movie about his life, which he says will be better than Belly and Get Rich Or Die Trying put together.

The two also mentioned they love listening to the radio while inside (they love Young M.A, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Bryson Tiller and Dave East music) and artists like Travis Scott, Migos and Shy Glizzy have contacted them while in the box.
