Following the release of his album The Big Day, Chance the Rapper received a barrage of hate online from a number of people. He responded to the criticism online, but he was on The Breakfast Club earlier today to explain himself a little better.
In his interview with DJ Envy, Charlamagne tha God and Angela Yee, he spoke on the string of “suicidal” tweets that went out around the time of the online hate. He chalked it up to the spiritual warfare that is going on in the world today and said that social media is the cause of detachment between the person commenting and the information being said. He went extra deep when he said the enemy is not of the flesh, comparing the hate to an FBI Counter Intelligence Program used to tear down activist groups.
He also spoke on his marriage and how it changed him, mental heath, the theme of the album and a whole lot more during his hour-long interview.
