D’Angelo – Sometimes It Snows in April (Live on The Tonight Show)

It’s been a tough week for Prince fans, getting hit blindsided with news of his death. Everyone has come out and paid tribute in their own ways, telling stories about their experience with the legendary singer and remembering why he meant to much to them.

The Tonight Show showed their respect to the man through D’Angelo, who was tonight’s musical guest on the show. Alongside Princess (Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum), the R&B crooner honored the memory of Prince with an emotional piano rendition of the Parade record “Sometimes It Snows In April.” Halfway through the tribute, he switched up the lyrics and got choked up doing so with the line saying, “I often dream of heaven/ I know that Prince is there.” He managed to keep his composure for the rest of the performance, paying homage in the most beautiful way.

R.I.P. Prince.
