You may have heard French Montana and Swae Lee‘s “Unforgettable” single blast a million times by now, but you probably aren’t familiar with the producers behind the record. No, it’s not Mike WiLL Made It or the Eardrummas on the track on this one. It’s 1Mind and Jaegen.
Genius went behind the boards with the production crew to examine how exactly the song came about and became a platinum smash for French’s Jungle Rules album.
From what Mac Sutphin says, he created the beat drunk after a rager after getting a DM from OVO Oliver about submitting tracks for Drake’s VIEWS album. When that didn’t pan out, CP DUBB sent the record to Swae Lee and finally ended up in French’s hands. Unfortunately, the track leaked prior to it being released officially, but that helped the record take off. Finally, the label got behind it and it became a certified hit.
It could have gone all wrong for them, but luckily, everything worked out.
