Last night, HBO finally premiered their Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine documentary The Defiant Ones after months of building hype for it. Fans got a real treat because aside from learning about the background behind the two moguls, the fourth episode also brought some new music from the good doctor. It actually concluded the entire documentary. The last time we heard from him, it was on Compton, and things have been quiet for him (on the musical front) since then.
“Gunfire” actually sounds like something that didn’t make the cut on the last album, but the origins of the track are not known as of this time. The Dre flow is reminiscent of what he was spitting on the Compton album, though. Let’s hope there’s a soundtrack for the documentary and this record sees the light of day.
