We’ve gone through teaser after teaser and finally, HBO gives a first real look at the upcoming Allen Hughes-directed film The Defiant Ones about Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine‘s rise to business supremacy. In the two-minute trailer, dozens of artist and entertainers that have worked with the duo closely show up and talk about how they took the business world by storm.
From Jimmy recalling how he felt when he first heard The Chronic, to Dre speaking to Iovine about starting Beats by Dre. Snoop Dogg also thinks back and explains how a Rolling Stone cover didn’t mean shit to him because he wanted to be on The Source, until it happened and he blew up into another stratosphere in the mainstream.
Eminem also talks about how he felt playing his demo tape for the two and can still channel how much he wanted to piss himself. It almost happen during this documentary.
The four-part event is going down on July 9, 10, 11 and 12 on HBO.
