Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ Album Is Already Platinum

It comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody that Drake‘s new album Scorpion is platinum in less than a week. As a matter of fact, according to the RIAA, the effort was certified gold and platinum on the day it was released thanks to mega smash singles like “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What.”

Any streaming record that previously stood was completely demolished by the 6 God, including the single-day record on both Apple Music and Spotify, as well as the week-long streaming record, which he smashed in three days of release.

Scorpion will have the best first week of any album this year, easily going No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart next week thanks to 435 million streams (and counting). Expect an unprecedented number of streams recorded by the time the full week is ends.

Even with the backlash from the Pusha T beef from rap fans, nothing seems to be stopping Aubrey Graham from going multi-platinum and shattering streaming records on his first week.

Welcome to the OVO summer takeover.
