FORBES: Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists 2016

5 Richest Hip-Hop Artists Worth $2.2B Combined

Over the last five years, similar names have dominated the annual FORBES richest hip-hop artist list. However, 50 Cent has officially been dethroned from his top five position, as Drake enters the elite list of company in the no. 5 slot. Thanks to Nike, Sprite and obviously Apple Music, Drizzy’s first year on the chart was largely contributed to his music and touring over the last twelve months.

Birdman still remained in his position among the greats, even with a $30 million decline in his Ca$h Money empire; while JAY Z’s big gamble on his Tidal music service was worth the risk to increase his net worth to $610 million. With the sale of Beats by Dre to Apple Music and the international launch of his N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, Dr. Dre saw a net worth of $710 million.

However, last but not least, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs remains no. 1 among his competitive peers, as he’s now worth $750 million. Thanks to Sean John clothing, Cîroc vodka, Revolt TV and his Aquahydrate water line, Money Making Mitch is the King for yet another year.

Take a look at the entire list below.
