Hak Baker – Conundrum

Artist: Hak Baker
Song: “Conundrum”
Producer: Hak Baker
EP: Misfits
Director: Rosa Galvin

Hak Baker is an artist you should be putting on your radar. The London native was a member of grime collective B.O.M.B. Squad before being sent to prison. Now, he’s back making soulful music in a singer-songwriter role, and recently took part in Levi’s Music Project, curated by Skepta, where he performed alongside him.

In his new video for “Conundrum,” Hak sits in the back of a car as we get a look at the streets he was raised in. “Growing up in East London, sunny East London, chucking eggs at the corner of the junction,” he reminisces. “Running from the old bill and their truncheons, no we don’t trust them.” From kids stealing from local shops to hanging out with friends and eating chicken and chips, it’s a real snapshot of youth.
