Jamiroquai teased their new album last week with a visual trailer. The group, who are making their first appearance in seven years, are sharing the first single from the upcoming album Automation. Which so happens to be the title of the lead single, which has drawn comparison to Daft Punk. Directed by Charlie Lightening, the futuristic video starts out with a nuclear explosion. It then sees group member Jay Kay patrolling the post-apocalyptic surroundings.
In an official statement on Automaton, Jay Kay said: “The inspiration for Automaton is in recognition of the rise of artificial intelligence and technology in our world today and how we as humans are beginning to forget the more pleasant, simple and eloquent things in life and in our environment including our relationship with one another as human beings.”
