Just when you thought JAY Z called Jermaine Dupri and told him not to fuck with the NFL, then turned around and did a deal with the league, that’s not how the narrative happened.
In an interview with Big Tigger on V-103 in Atlanta, JD sets the records straight.
According to Dupri, he says Hov never told him not to deal with the NFL. At the time that he was receiving hate for doing free concerts at Centennial Park downtown, he just heard from Jay and knew where he stood on the situation. He’s talked to him since this whole thing popped off the past week, and it’s all good between them. JD stressed that all he wanted to do was put on for the city and got killed for it.
He even went on to say that the Roc Nation deal with the NFL is a good thing. Jermaine cleared up that Brian Michael Cox meant that “in theory,” he could have done something with the league because he was in the mix, though he decided to distance himself from what he was doing after and during the Super Bowl.
The conversation starts at around 4:33 but the actual comments came at 10:15.
