Jimetta Rose has been keeping her voice in tact over the years collaborating with all your favorite California artists: Blu, Anderson. Paak, Madlib, MED and Thundercat to name a few. This Friday, the Los Angeles singer will release The Light Bearer, her first album since 2010’s debut album The Barber’s Daughter.
Before it drops August 19th, Jimetta is sharing an advance stream of the whole album on her Bandcamp page. The Light Bearer, recorded over two weeks, is a “coming of age tale funnelled through the imagination of a jazz romantic.” Georgia Anne Muldrow produced the entire project, which is being released on Busdriver’s Temporary Whatever label.
