Joe Budden Schools DJ Akademiks about Definition of a “Flop” on Everyday Struggle

#EverydayStruggle

Yesterday, Complex launched the pilot premiere of their new Everyday Struggle series, which pits Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks against each other to debate pop culture. After agreeing to a bet on whether or not Kendrick Lamar will sell over 400,000 his first week for DAMN; the two were back in their Manhattan studio to examine the features and producers for the highly-anticipated effort.

After touching on the Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj break-up and who’s handling it better, things transitioned to one of the most important segments of the show’s early inception.

JOe was asked what does he think of Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv is Rage 2 album being delayed, which soon lit a fire under his seat. After hearing DJ Akademicks discuss how he believes the last Rick Ross album was a flop; Budden soon explained how the Miami Bawse didn’t take an L with his last project.

While breaking down how album sales aren’t the complete definition for the term, he bluntly said “What You Have Spent vs. What You Have Made” is the business model companies use. Budden soon went to give advice to Uzi London, citing how issue should be with his major label and not managers.

Take a look above at the full episode.

Disclaimer: 27:30 is where the flop information begins.
