Another Friday, another new release from Joey Bada$$. Today, the Brooklyn rapper is back with his new song “Thugz Cry,” which finds him reimagining Prince’s classic 1984 single “When Doves Cry” from the Purple Rain album. Joey uses the basis of the original hook, and adds his own verses over production from 1-900 and NasteeLuvzYou.
Joey first performed “Thugz Cry” for Triple J’s ‘Like a Version’ series, which dropped a couple of weeks ago.
