Joey Bada$$ is out in Australia right now, and recently stopped by Triple J to take part in their ‘Like a Version’ series. For it, the Pro Era rapper performed a cover of Prince’s 1984 hit “When Doves Cry” from his Purple Rain album, except he called his version “When Thugs Cry.” It wasn’t just any old cover though, because he added new original verses of his own to the Purple One’s classic chorus.
As well as that, he also performed “Temptation” from his ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ album.
