“Fuck all this dick swinging contest”
Last month, reports surfaced that Apple was looking to purchase JAY Z’s Tidal streaming music service – which would end that war of content exclusivity. While representatives for Tidal have opted to not comment on the situation, Kanye West took to social and confirmed that news was indeed true – calling for Apple CEO Tim Cook to make peace with JAY Z.
This wouldn’t mark the first major Apple acquisition, as the company purchased Dr. Dre’s Beats Eletronics last year for $3 billion. Ironically, Yeezy wants the company to cut Jigga his check saying, “This Tidal Apple beef is fucking up the music game.” This year alone, we’ve seen Apple Music have high-profiled exclusive releases for Drake’s VIEWS and DJ Khaled’s Major Key – with Tidal in comparison, rolling out Beyoncé’s LEMONADE, Rihanna’s Anti and The Life of Pablo.
Whether or not Yeezy is successful in getting these powerful beings to all get on the phone together remains to be seen; but we just hope HiFi lossless audio is added to a premium-tier subscription plan from Apple – if the deal becomes official this year. Take a look at the Kanye messages below.
