This week is the 20th anniversary of Wu-Tang Clan’s debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Over the week at MTV’s Rap Fix, some of the Clan stopped by to talk with Sway Calloway about their history and impact on the entire rap game.
Before the show concluded, Sway declined to ask them to spit freestyles out of respect, but wanted to pay homage to the Staten Island click with some of Hip-Hop’s elite artist all showing admiration to them. The RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, Cappadonna and Ol’ Dirty Bastard (RIP) were the first ever organized collective in Hip-Hop; which would pave the way for Jet Life, Taylor Gang, MMG, and YMCMB among others.
