LAPD Name Yo Gotti as Person of Interest in Young Dolph Shooting

It’s no secret that Yo Gotti and Young Dolph have had an ongoing beef over the past few years. Most of which was kept on wax through various subliminal lines and full out diss songs. But it was this year where things escalated to unexpected proportions.

Earlier this year Gotti affiliate and CMG rapper Blac Youngsta was questioned for his involvement in the February shooting that left Young Dolph’s bulletproof SUV riddled with bullet holes. Then, Tuesday afternoon in Hollywood, Dolph was shot at once again, but this time he didn’t escape unharmed. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was immediately taken to the hospital for help.

In a developing story, news has spread that Yo Gotti has been named by the LAPD as a person of interest, being that the two were staying at the same Loews Hotel. Witnesses of the incident told officers that they Yo Gotti was at the scene and was involved in what took place.

UPDATE: According to the Los Angeles Times, a suspect named Corey McClendon was arrested in connection to the Young Dolph shooting and taken into custody for questioning. He is being held with a $1 million dollar bail. As of now, the case is being looked at as attempted murder, though LAPD does not know whether McClendon was the one firing the shots or his role in the shooting as of now.

Detective Megan Aguilar has said Dolph was arguing with three men outside Loews Hollywood Hotel, where shots rang out and suspects fled the scene on foot and in a vehicle, before leaving it stranded up the street at a gas station and continuing on foot. Dolph managed to escape the shooting and run into a Shoe Palace nearby, before being taken to the hospital.

Although Yo Gotti and Young Dolph have beefed in the past, Gotti is no longer a person of interest, according to LAPD.
