It’s been a very long time since Macklemore was without his music partner in crime Ryan Lewis, but Mr. Haggerty went without his longtime collaborator earlier this month when he debuted his latest single “Drug Dealer.” Mack co-produced the song alongside Joshua “Budo” Karp and it also features additional vocals from singer Ariana DeBoo. Two weeks after the song’s initial release, Macklemore is back today to premiere the official music video.
Directed by Jason Koenig, the music video features Macklemore struggling and going through withdraw as he touches on the tragic affects of drug abuse. DeBoo’s cameo sees the singer covered in a pool of pill as she deliver the chorus. After a long exhausting night of detoxing, Macklemore is later shown checking out of rehab with others who suffer from the same addiction.
