Meek Mill Explains Why He Doesn’t Listen to Kendrick Lamar or J. Cole

Watch Meek Mill’s CRWN interview with Elliot Wilson

Last week, Meek Mill was in NYC to promote his no. 1 album in the country, Dreams Worth More Than Money. During the conversation with Elliot Wilson, the MMG rapper opened up on his relationship with Nicki Minaj and how she helped him coupe with his prison nightmare throughout 2014. He also detailed his brotherhood with Wale, which the two eventually reconciled citing their personal egos got the best of them at the time.

While he’s still confined to living in Philadelphia, due to court orders, he touched on how music saved him from getting killed or ending up in prison for the rest of his life. He closed out with mentioning he’s bringing back the street element to the game – citing JAY Z, DMX, 50 Cent, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross as his main inspirations. Although he respects Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, he went to say the pair are in a different lane from what’s in his regular rotation; and even said if Nicki Minaj did pop records, he wouldn’t listen to them either.
