The R&B scene is alive and kicking and we can tell the OG’s are paying attention. With artists like H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Gallant, SiR, Leon Bridges, Arin Ray, Ella Mai, Sabrina Claudio, Tone Stith and more taking things back to the essence, veterans like Ne-Yo have decided to take it back as well. We could tell by the first single that he released off his upcoming Good Man album. Though he switched things up and dropped a radio-friendly record with “Push Back,” Ne-Yo is back to hie R&B roots on “Apology,” saying sorry to the hearts he broke along the way. Is Ne-Yo changing his ways? At the least, he’s reflecting and trying to mend his mistakes.
