If you want to get some insight to the workings of the industry, look no further than Lenny S. The man who has worked with JAY Z for mad long sat down with Al Lindstrom, sat down for a in-depth interview and spoke on a few things that most might not know.
Besides how Magna Carta Holy Grail and how Hov broke boundaries by releasing that album with his #NewRules campaign, he also spoke on how different it is to be at Roc Nation, as opposed to the legendary Roc-A-Fella Records. He also talks about how Jay is the most non-egotistical guy around and how he views artists longevity more than anything else. It means more to him to sign someone who will be in the game for 30 years and transcend culture and history, than someone who’s hot at the moment.
Interestingly enough, he’s looking to sign a rapper by the name of Goldie by way of Philly. We’ll be sure to keep our ear out on him and see what he’s bringing to the table.
