Nipsey Hussle’s Philanthropic Work to Be Entered to Congressional Record

Though his work with the community was appreciated by some, not a lot of folks actually knew how much Nipsey Hussle did in his time alive to give back to South Central and the people who needed the help. While it is unfortunate that people outside of the rap community have found out about it through his death, at the least we can say that his legacy will continue and he is posthumously still being recognized for what he did.

With many people still mourning his passing, some good news came out of California today, as Congresswoman Karen Bass announced that she will be spearheading efforts to enter Nip’s contributions to the community to Congressional Record.

Nipsey died a day before he met with Los Angeles Police Department chief Michael Moore and Police Commission President Steve Soboroff to talk about how they could prevent gang violence in South Central and beyond.

In the community, Nip was known to give jobs to those in need, donated money to schools to renovate play areas, gave kids shoes and opened up a STEM center (Vector 90) with real estate developer David Gross.

While it has been tragic to lose someone like this to senseless gun violence, it is good news to hear that Hussle’s work will live in U.S. history forever.

Rest in power Nip.
