OS Flashback: Kris Kross – It’s A Shame

Yesterday evening, news broke that Chris Kelly (34) of the popular 90’s duo Kris Kross was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home. He would later pass away later at Atlanta Medical Center shortly after 8pm. While his cause of death has not been determined, an autopsy is scheduled for today to get some clarity on the situation. During his career, he enjoyed three successful albums which two ahicieved multiplatinum status. Known for the 1992 hit-single “Jump,” the boys known for wearing their clothes reversed would soon be opening acts for Michael Jackson on the “Dangerous World Tour” in the early 90s.

In our flashback for today, we pay homage today to two of the people who put ATL virtually on the map with Kris Kross “It’s A Shame,” serving as the fourth single from their debut album Totally Krossed Out. Much like the song title, we just saw the two perform during SoSo Def’s 20th anniversary concert, so Kelly’s recent death is a bit of a shock.

R.I.P. Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly (August 11, 1978 – May 1, 2013).
