MC Lyte and Missy Elliot are two of the most underrated emcees ever in our opinion as we felt today it was necessary to show love to “Cold Rock a Party.” This was one of the biggest singles of the year from 1996 in which this track still lives in our iPods and musical rotations til this day whenever we feel like it’s time to get the party started (pun intended).
With Puffy and Ringo sampling the classic Diana Ross “Upside Down” record, this single became an instant classic and one of the introductory features for Missy Elliott as the two females went in on this timeless track.
