It’s about time we heard some new music from Pharrell. This year has seen him collaborate with the likes of Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky and Cassius, but today he’s back with a song of his own titled “Runnin’.” The track is taken from the soundtrack of the upcoming Hidden Figures movie, which stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe in the leading roles. The song finds Pharrell reminiscing on childhood and summertime in Virginia.
Of course, Pharrell has had his fair share of success with film soundtracks — you might remember a little song called “Happy” from Despicable Me 2.
