Rapsody scored a couple of Grammy nominations last year for her Laila’s Wisdom album (Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song). Today, she’s keeping the visuals coming with a video for “Pay Up.”
It’s directed by Brian Petchers, and finds the North Carolina rapper partying with friends while watching a couple’s situation play out on a big screen. “He just wanna lay up in yo’ place, livin’ off yo’ income, chillin’ all day,” she raps. “Borrowed her the car and bring it back on low tank, with his homeboys’ homeboys playing 2k.”
The song itself is all about a male and female feeding off each other’s success.
