Some might be taken back by Raury‘s difference in sound from what people are used to hearing, but he emphasizes that he embodies the new generation of kids growing up, who accept plenty of genres and cultures because of the internet age. At a ripe young age of 18, Raury sounds more mature than your average high school graduate. He also has high hopes for the creativity of kids growing up in this era.
Through the DAZED Magazine documentary Indigo Child, you will get to know the Atlanta buzzing artist a little better, as well as his mother, who has nicknamed him “Sweet and Sour.” Through the clip, you will see what has influenced his sound so much and why he stands behind the fact that ATL has more to offer than the “trap,” plus insight on what inspired “God’s Whisper.”
