Coinciding with the release of her self-titled album being impacting the internet today, Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira drops off the new music video to her latest single “Empire.” I guess you can say we’re a little upset this video didn’t spark one of our infamous GIF posts like her Rihanna-assisted single did. But the clip, which seemed to have drawn some inspiration from HBO’s popular fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, still featured a few sexy moments from the female star.
In the clip, Shak shows up to her wedding ceremony with cold feet and sprints, leaving her unseen fiance and a room full of guest behind. After sprinting away, she can be seen running thru an open field, seeming to be free of everything and enjoying the unmarried life. She returns to an empty candle-lit church, now in a black dress where she prances around showing off a new vibe.
While she serves as a judge on NBC’s The Voice, she is set to perform the new single live on The Voice UK this Saturday. Stream Shakira’s new self-titled album now.
