Spotify is starting out the new year with amazing news and it concerns their subscriber base. The streaming giant has revealed that they now have 70 million subscribers to their name, more than double than Apple Music, who said they had 30 million back in September.
The company negotiated new deals with three labels last year: Sony Music, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. As a result, they will get a break on royalty pay-outs moving forward, as well as keeping certain new albums from being streamed by free users by request of the labels.
