Carter V x Once Upon a Time in Shaolin
Over the summer, Martin Shkreli had his $5 million bail revoked and was sent back to jail, as he got himself back in trouble after making an alleged bounty threat to Hillary Clinton. Currently, he’s awaiting sentencing for securities fraud charges; where he’s facing up to 20 years behind bars.
However, this week, the native of Brooklyn is under fire once more. Now, the former pharmaceutical executive is being targeted by the United States government, to forfeit his copies of Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin and Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V. This comes as part of a $7.4 million asset seize federal prosecutors are attempting to make happen in court filing.
The government filed its submission on Friday revealing, “The court should hold Shkreli financially accountable for his criminal conduct by requiring him to forfeit the amounts above, which total $7,360,450.00, and enter a forfeiture money judgment against him in that total amount.”
We’re curious if these albums will eventually go back to a private auction, or returned to the original owners (Birdman, Wayne and RZA). Let us know in the comments what you think.
