We’ve found that the continuous release of strong content is growing as the weeks go by. Don’t think we’re complaining though, as it’s definitely a sign that things are going in the right direction.
Many long-awaited projects saw the light of day over the last week, with a bunch of newly formed artists amongst some of the greats. We saw the return of Dipset’s Juelz Santana and No Limit’s Master P with full-length offerings, which have been highly anticipated for a number of months. Other fantastic projects came from Raekwon, Consequence, Future and Gunplay to name a few. However, our pick of the week would arguably have to be DyMe-A-DuZiN’s A Portrait Of Donnovan 15-track effort. Why, you may ask? As well as quick-wit rhymes and an exceptional flow, the production saw a rare appearance from Plain Pat and Emile Haynie – the genius behind some of Kid Cudi’s earlier work. With tracks from Just Blaze, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Fabolous and more, there’s no doubt that the week had something for everyone.
