With just a few weeks to go before the year ends, we saw an overload of content from all areas. One of the highlights of the week was undoubtedly Márquez’s famous knock-out versus Pacquiáo, which sparked a lot of interest from all around. We also saw the news of Beyoncé making her way onto one of our favourite soft-drink cans, amongst the likes of Trinidad Jame$ signing an eye-watering deal with Def Jam Records. How about that?
As artists were pushing for end of year lists and last-minute stocking fillers, as well as clothing brands getting their collections noticed in time for the holidays, there was plenty to be excited about it. We heard tough projects from Young Jeezy, King Louie, GLC, Luke James, Marsha Ambrosius, Elijah Blake and long-time The Roots affiliate Truck North. Tracks included brand new sounds from Ab-Soul, Wale, The Game, Raekwon, T.I., A-Trak, and more. The people behind Django Unchained were busy promoting the movie with songs from James Brown vs. 2pac and Anthony Hamilton & Elayna Boynton for the sublime soundtrack.
