One event that stole the headlines over the past week was undoubtedly the Super Bowl, but more specifically Beyonce and Destiny’s Child’s superb performance at half time. The blogosphere were providing jokes left, right and center about her electrifying performance shutting down the lights for a long duration. Also this week, Justin Timberlake gave live performances of brand new tracks, along with bringing Jay-Z on stage for their “Suit & Tie” collaboration. To add to this, he provided the artwork and tracklist for his third studio album The 20/20 Experience. This past Wednesday was the 10 year anniversary of 50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, which saw people reminiscing of where they were a decade ago.
In music this week, we saw projects from Curren$y, KeY Wane, Joe Budden, Jahshua Smith, Waka Flocka and the long awaited mixtape from female vocalist Kilo Kish. Singles came from Chevy Woods, Eric Bellinger, Wale, Casey Veggies, Rockie Fresh, Bilal, Prince and many more. To accompany Drake’s new offering “Started From The Bottom,” OG Ron C came through with the trademark chopped not slopped version of the track.
