One of the biggest events of the past week was clearly the 85th Academy Awards. With the Best Picture being awarded to Ben Affleck and George Clooney’s Argo, it may be fair to say that a few people were left pretty surprised by the decision. Prizes for leading roles were given to Daniel Day Lewis for his performance in Lincoln, with Jennifer Lawrence continuing her success with her delightful contribution to Silver Linings Playbook.
On the music front, we were left extremely impressed by the amount of solid material that came through the ranks since day one. Impressive projects were released from Chase N. Cashe, Jared Evan and Statik Selektah, Shlohmo Kaytranada, Youth Lagoon and the all important sequel for Gucci Mane and Young Scooter with Free Bricks 2. In terms of new singles, the likes of Hit-Boy, Joey Bada$$, A$ton Matthews, Curren$y, Kid Cudi and many more stopped by to add their dosage to the content.
