A few days ago, Troy Ave made a claim that he was almost part of the Top Dawg Entertainment roster while in jail. In the NuPac album track “Truth Be Told PSA” he said he had an interaction with Kendrick Lamar and there was a plan in motion to move west and sign with the label after he got out of prison. On the song, Troy says the deal ultimately fell through.
According to Top Dawg, that interaction never happened and there were no talks to have Ave sign with the label. He took to Twitter to clear up the rumors and shut down the “fake news.”
4 the record… I've never had a convo with Troy ave or any 1 in his camp.. neither has KDot.. yesterdays story was fake news… #TDE
