Travis Scott Scores Largest Sales Week of 2018 for ‘Astroworld’ Album Numbers

Congrats to La’Flame and Mike Dean!

With various numbers floating around over the last few days, Billboard has confirmed the official and final first week sales tally for Travis Scott’s Astroworld album.

The project marks his second no. 1 on charts, as he moved over 537,000 equivalent album units in its first week. However, the bigger news of the story is Travis scoring the highest pure sales week for any music project release this year, earning 270,000 traditional album sales.

This record puts him ahead of Drake’s Scorpion album for physical sales, and becomes the highest project to notch this many sales since Taylor Swift’s reputation project.

Scott previously achieved a no. 1 album on Billboard two years ago for his Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, which moved 88,000 in week one. Prior to that, Rodeo also debuted at no. 3 back in 2015; but Astroworld totaled both project’s first week sales combined in its opener.

Considering the Cactus Jack representative is gearing up for an Astroworld Tour this fall and multiple music visuals, look for him to hold a steady position on the top 10 in the coming weeks.
