Travis Scott Talks Wanting to Improve Music Craft after ‘BITTSM’ Success

La’Flame is hip-hop’s newest rock star!

Over the last three years, Travi$ Scott has worked his way up from production credits from JAY Z, Kanye West and most recently with Rihanna to finally become a full-fledged solo star.

The G.O.O.D. Music rapper is currently featured in Paper Magazine’s October issue and is opening up on how he wants to better his overall artist craft – even after earning his first ever no. 1 album on Billboard last month with sophomore LP, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

In the conversation, La’Flame touched on how he still wants to improve his music craft from writing, producing and presentation to the masses – as well as his biggest musical influence, Kid Cudi.

Take a look at excerpts from the sit-down below.

On improving artistic craft.
“I just want to stay focused,” he says modestly. There’s more shit to do, and I’ve got a lot more to accomplish. I feel like I can always become a better writer, make better music and better beats, perform better, make better videos.”

On Kid Cudi and three types of hip-hop artists: rhymers, hook creators and those who can do both.
“He was like the guy that could rap, make a hook, and make a beat, and do a video and show you the life. That’s what I strive to be. In my mind, I think I’m both, right?”
