Vic Mensa Pictured in the Studio with Gorillaz

Five years have passed since Gorillaz released their last album The Fall, so the recent news about Damon Albarn putting together another LP understandably got fans on their toes again.

Remi Kabaka, the voice of fictional band member Russel Hobbs, has taken to Instagram to share an image in the studio with Vic Mensa. The news doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, after the Chicago rapper performed “Clint Eastwood” with Damon Albarn at Governors Ball in 2014. Vic was also meant to be a guest at his show at Royal Albert Hall that same year, but Kano filled in for him last minute.

In case you needed more confirmation, the below tweet confirms the blurry photo is Vic Mensa. His Instagram posts shows that he’s been in Chicago and New York of late, and there’s even a photo of Raury in the mix.
