It was all good just a day ago.
The biggest story of 2012 Summer Jam had to be Lil Wayne telling his whole crew to pull out from the concert. It all started with Peter Rosenberg’s festival stage rant (above), calling Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” single “bullshit” and praising that “real hip-hop shit.” Somehow, word got back to Wayne, who reacted and later instructed Nicki Minaj and the rest of the YMCMB to cancel their performances and go home.
After word got out, Funkmaster Flex took the Summer Jam stage and declared war on Cash Money and said he’s not fucking with commercial rappers anymore.
“We ain’t fuckin’ with commercial rappers no more! If you lost the fuckin’ streets, it’s your fault. If you don’t go gold, it’s your fault! I’m dedicated to tearing you down! If you not buying no more commercial albums, hit me on Twitter right now.”
