Original Roc-A-Fella member, Young Guru was the next producer / DJ featured on FUSE’s popular “Crate Diggers” series. Guru opened up about growing up never having to dig for records, as his father purchased any “funk & slow jams” which he gained an appreciation for music at an early age. Guru goes through a brief tour of his vinyl collection which is alphabetically organized in his currently new studio being made.
He also found a U2 modern record entitled “The Joshua Tree” album from 1987 which he reflected on joining them on tour with Jay-Z citing the group was very down to earth. Being an avid fan of drum kits within music, Guru expanding his sound to even sampling Rock N’ Roll which he felt was similar to Hip-Hop in its infant stages.
