Miami Will Waive Chris Bosh Before All-Star Break

One of the nastiest situations behind-the-scenes is the Chris Bosh and Miami Heat front office rift. While both sides have maintained from speaking badly about each other to media or on social platforms, internally, we feel both sides really want this marriage to end. This comes down to Erik Spoelstra’s history of witnessing a player unfortunately die on the court (see: Hank Gathers 1990 collapse) and doesn’t want to relive that experience ever again in his life.

Unfortunately, this is holding up Chris Bosh’s career in his prime years, as the team didn’t clear him for a return to the court after failing an internal physical. Chris got clearance through private doctors to return to the court and believed he would begin the 2017 season in South Beach, but learned like the rest of the world through ESPN that he’d have to miss some more time.

Pat Riley publicly stated that he thinks Bosh’s career with the Heat is done, but Chris and his friends of the NBAPA won’t be going away quietly. He’s still due $75 million until 2019, which the Heat will likely pay, but due to Miami’s imminent struggling and media asking if they’ll clear Bosh to help the team secure a few more unnecessary wins will have owner Micky Arison and Riley looking to get rid of this distraction. Whether or not Chris ends up with a contender remains to be seen, but we expect this divorce to end messy before All-Star ’17.
