The 2017 NBA All-Rookie First and Second Teams

Imagine making the NBA All-Rookie team after only playing 31 games in your third year, because you missed the first two seasons due to injury? That’s exactly what happened to Joel Embiid this year, because the Philadelphia 76ers center made the cut for the NBA All-Rookie first team. So did his teammate Dario Saric, who was a unanimous pick alongside Malcolm Brogdon. Buddy Hield, and Willy Hernangomez also made this year’s first team honors.

Rounding out the second team include up and comers like Jamal Murray, Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Marquese Chriss and the people’s champion, Yogi Ferrell.

The interesting part about this year’s first team is the fact that four international players made the cut for the All-NBA honors. Before this year, the record was three. Croatia, Cameroon, Bahamas and Spain are all represented on the 2017 first team. That’s dope to see.

It’s only a matter of time before all five first teamers are foreigners, right?

Joel Embiid, Philadelphia
Buddy Hield, Sacramento
Willy Hernangomez, New York

Second Team
