76ers Trade Nerlens Noel to Mavericks for Andrew Bogut

With a logjam of frontcourt players in the team and only Joel Embiid looking like a mainstay, the Philadelphia 76ers have been fielding offers for Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor in recent weeks.

The Indiana Pacers were interested in Okafor and Noel almost seemed like one that would stay put. That seems to be the last thing happening because the Sixers have shipped him out of town. The franchise has moved on from him and sent him to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Andrew Bogut. The Mavs are also sending Justin Anderson and a conditional first round pick to Philly.

The 76ers are now getting a veteran rental in Bogut, who becomes an unrestricted free agent after the end of the season. Noel is also a free agent, but he’s restricted, so the Mavs can match any offer a team throws at him in the offseason. They may keep him for an extra year.
