Andrew Wiggins Drills Hail Marry Buzzer-Beater to Defeat OKC Thunder

ZOMG!

The Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t having a good start to their 2018 season so far. After blowing out the New York Knicks in their opening game, OKC has quickly lost two back-to-back games against rival west teams, the Utah Jazz and again tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With Minny having minimal bench support, they looked to their starters to provide bulk offense.

However, the team was more successful on the defensive end, shutting out their opponents in the third quarter. Soon after, it was only a matter of time before Russell Westbrook cleaned up his stats – scoring nearly 20 in the fourth quarter alone; but he still needed a bit more help from 7 and 13.

After exchanging buckets with the team and closing the gap on a double-digit lead, the Thunder finally took the lead on an in-bound dump pass from Westbrook to Carmelo Anthony for a 3-pointer.

OKC took the lead with 4.7 seconds left and had a chance to stop the Wolves from leaving town with a dub. Unfortunately, Billy Donovan had Melo guarding the inbound, which opened up the wing for Andrew Wiggins to get clear from a hard screen on Paul George from Karl-Anthony Towns.

Andrew would go up for the buzzer-beater, knocking in a bank shot to solidify Minnesota’s big victory on the road. Luckily, these two teams play again this Friday in the Target Center, as the Thunder will be looking to get revenge. Take a look at the insane shot above.
