Anthony Davis Scores 50 Points in Pelicans Loss to Nuggets

BEAST MODE 2.0

It wasn’t until the final game of the preseason that Anthony Davis made it back to the court for the New Orleans Pelicans. Some questioned whether he was rushing to return, but Ant wanted to be in uniform by the season opener. We are glad he made that executive decision because boy did he put up a historic performance tonight at home.

The guy was a one-man team out there. Unfortunately, his effort did not result in a win for the Pels. Davis finished with an NBA 2K stat line of 50 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. No, really. Seven steals as a 6’11” power forward in the National Basketball Association.

Those are straight video game numbers.

The supporting cast was virtually non-existant but they’re going to have to step shit up and give The Brow some help if the team expects to do anything in the Western Conference this season. Buddy Hield is going to have to drop more than 4 points off the bench too. As much as we want to see Davis drop triple-doubles every night, we also want to see him win.

We just hope he stays healthy for a long stretch.

FINAL: DEN 107 | NO 102
