Appreciation for Giannis Antetokounmpo, as Told by Kobe Bryant

The Greek Freak, otherwise known as Giannis Antetokounmpo, is a special talent on the basketball court. In terms of the future of the NBA, he’s always a name being thrown around in terms of superstars down the road.

Kobe Bryant has been keeping an eye on Antetokounmpo during his retirement and has dedicated a whole MUSECAGE segment to him and his game.

In the clip, Kobe talks about the gifts Giannis was granted with: long arms, huge hands, height and athleticism. But according to the Black Mamba, that isn’t enough to make him a star. That’s why he got to work and made his arms stronger, developed a post game, improved his shot and ball handling. For these reasons, he became a complete threat on the court, because he commanded double teams, became a passer and could easily sink a jumper whenever it called for.

Yet, that wasn’t enough. He studied the game and became a smarter player, changed how he played became a defensive force as much as he was an offensive one.

That’s why Kobe is paying homage to the Greek Freak. For evolving into what you see today.
